Are you planning on remodeling your home but you have too many remodel ideas buzzing around in your head?

It’s overwhelming to deal with too many ideas at once, which makes it impossible to get the results you want. Instead, it’s better to find ways to organize those ideas so that you can tackle all of your ideas one at a time.

Keep reading to learn all the best tips on how to stay organized while planning a remodel!

Create a Mind Map

Sometimes during the design process, we have so many ideas that we don’t know which one to choose. Do we love the pale yellow color for the bedroom or should we go with traditional white?

The easiest way to figure out what you want is to create a mind map for each room. Throw all of your ideas into the mind map and consider them one by one. This gives you a chance to explore the idea without dedicating a lot of time and money.

The mind map is similar to a vision board and gives you an easy overview of all your ideas. This makes it easier to choose the ideas that inspire you, instead of letting them take up a lot of room in your head.

Keep a Binder

Once you’ve finished your mind map and you’ve chosen your favorite ideas, it’s time to move on to a more solidified plan. The best way to do this is by creating a remodeling binder for each room.

Within the binder, add information you want and need to complete the remodel. Paint colors, floor colors, textures, lighting ideas, decorations, appliances, budget necessities, and more. Don’t forget to include anything else that inspires you for that room, such as a mood board.

It’s also a good place to include professional companies you want to call upon to help with the remodel. For example, if you’re working on a bathroom remodel, make sure to include Higgason Homes in your binder.

Consider each binder your plan of attack for all of your remodeling projects. Whenever you need to reference something, it’ll be in easy reach.

Divide and Conquer

No design process works well when there are too many things going on at once. That’s why you want to pick one project and finish that before moving on to your next idea.

When you try to juggle too many remodeling projects, you’ll end up with a busy house full of half-finished rooms. It’s not only stressful, but it’s also a breeding ground for mistakes and accidents.

Instead, start with the project that excites you most!

Don’t Let Your Many Remodel Ideas Stop You From Creating the Perfect Home

Even though it feels overwhelming at times, having many remodel ideas to play with is a good thing. It’s better to encourage your inspiration than to struggle to come up with an idea at all.

Remodeling a house isn’t always an easy activity, so have fun with it and let your ideas run wild. You never know when you’ll stumble upon the perfect design for you and your family!
